Sealer (Absorption Equaliser)
SK15

SK15 is a water based clear sealer composed of selected grades of calcium carbonate fillers, methyl cellulose and glycols. SK15 is suitable for use when plastering onto masonry substrates of varying suctions. Typically, SK15 is required to be applied prior to application of pre-coloured mineral finishes (PT100/101/102/PT103/104) over polystyrene or thin coat systems on 7.5mm fibre-cement sheet. When sealing prior to application of pre-coloured spray coat finishes contact Putz-technik products ltd.

Preparation
The substrate must be dry and of a sound nature, free from dust and loose particles, form release oils and other contaminants. Mask or protect other surfaces prior to commencing application. Care must be taken to ensure sufficient drying/hardening time has been given to any previous coating or area of repair during the course of preparation.

Application
SK15 is applied by brush, roller or airless spray. Before use stir the material thoroughly using a broad flat stirrer. Touch dry in 30 minutes at 25°C and 50% RH. Recoat time in 2 hours. Longer times may be required under colder or more humid conditions. Do not apply at a temperature below 10°C or where temperature is likely to fall below 10°C during the drying period. Do not apply in dusty or windy conditions or where periods of rain are prevalent.

Coverage
Apply 1 coat at a spread rate of 5m2 per litre to textured surfaces. Or apply 1 coat at a spread rate of 8m2 per litre for smooth surfaces.

Important
Under no circumstances add foreign substances other than clean water to SK15.
Wet or green substrates should not be allowed to be coated with SK15 before a reasonable curing/drying period.
After treatment of a surface with SK15, if subsequent coating (of plaster) has not been carried out within two days, it will be necessary to reapply SK15 prior to further application (of plaster).
